Abstract
This study aims to produce A Transformation Model of Assessment and Evaluation of Textbook Content in Malaysia ( Textbook Division MOE , 2002) and use the textbook as a reference for the National Education Assessment System (2011 ). Hence, applying Interpretive Structural modeling ( ISM ) as a development process model and mapping the relationship between the elements involved in the transformation of forms of assessment and evaluation in the textbooks , this study also will unlock the problem assessment and evaluation of complex text book to several subsystems using the experience practical and expert knowledge. A total of 112 expert group consisting of 60 Subject Specialist Teachers ( Excellent Teachers , Writers and Evaluators Textbook ), 12 lecturers from Malaysian Institute of Teacher Education , 10 University Lecturers , 30 Officers from Textbook Division and Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka, Malaysia involved in establishing a model of hierarchical structure (Multilevel Structural Model ) Transformation Assessment and Evaluation in the Textbook . Group of experts reached consensus on the five elements of assessment and evaluation to be implemented in achieving the objectives of the National Education Assessment System ( i ) Multiple Level Assessment , (ii ) Using illustrations and graphics as an assessment tool , (iii ) the form of exploration activities through the website : ( iv ) To key-in the BDE code and ( v ) modular based system. The Transformation Model of Textbooks Assessment and Evaluation Forms can be the basis of writing textbooks guidelines in Malaysia.
