CABARAN DALAM PENJAGAAN ORANG KURANG UPAYA DARIPADA PERSPEKTIF KERJA SOSIAL PERUBATAN (The Challenges In Caregiving Persons With Disabilities From The Medical Social Work Perspectives)

Abstract

This article is about the caregiving role of a couple with a disability taking care of their children with special needs. Issues highlighted are about how parents manage in taking care of their children with special needs when they are disabled. Data and discussions were based on the Department of Medical Social Work, Tuanku Mukhriz Hospital, National University of Malaysia. Besides financial aid and social support from family members, the writers believe that family health education is crucial for couples before starting their own family.  Therefore, the history of family health and knowledge on health care is essential.
