Quranic Motivation for Using Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Daawah

Abstract
Information and communication technology (ICT) is a powerful enabler that has broken down the space and time barriers. This technology has the capacity to assist the daawah movement in order to increase its effectiveness and efficiency. While ICT may be new in its current modern manifestation, the Quran has touched on the various concepts of ICT through many of its verses. This article looks at these various Quranic verses which provide glimpses of the modern concepts of ICT as well as discusses how a new breed of preachers, dubbed the “techno-du‘ah†can benefit from the utilisation of technology for daawah.
