Abstract

The issue of terminology exposes us to new arguments concerning the divine discourse; because it touches the Quranic text from the angle of the concepts, which in turn imposes a re-discovering of this miraculous text from another perspective dominated by the idiomatical meaning rather than semantical structure. Although many researchers have overcome this approach to the application of the study of terminology on the lexic of the Quran, we still find some reluctancy among scholars concerning the application of the new approaches on the Quranic text. Between these two groups, the present paper stands pondering on the Quranic use of the vocabulary. The following question was raised: Did the Quranic vocabulary exceed its lexical meanings in order to carve a special concept inside the Quranic text? in another word: Did the Quranic world gained a specific meaning that makes it a real Quranic term? However, four words were chosen to study and to answer the previous question, namely: hadiqah (garden) Saba’, farighan (empty), and nujum wa kawakib (stars and astres) respectively.
