Abstract

Abstract
In the early 19th century, mission authorities with British colonies come to Malaya and established mission schools. The Marist Brothers from France was one of the Roman Catholic mission authorities that aimed to provide education comes to Malaya. Brother
Philippe Wu from Marist Brothers was invited by the Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur, Most Reverend Father Tan Sri Dominic Vendargon to establish a Chinese medium secondary school. Thus, Catholic High School, Petaling Jaya become a double identity school which was mission school identity and national type Chinese school identity. Currently, this school provides formal education under the Ministry of Education of Malaysia. As Catholic High School need to maintain both identities and follow the government education policy as well, the hard work and persistence behind it are worth exploring.
